A new report reveals unfortunate news regarding Asuka’s WWE status. The veteran performer has not competed since The Kabuki Warriors lost to Jade Cargill and Bianca Belair at Backlash France in May 2024.
According to Cassidy Haynes of BodySlam, Asuka’s return to WWE competition has been pushed back further than initially anticipated. The report indicates she could remain sidelined through WrestleMania 41 in April.
The report adds that WWE officials had originally planned for Asuka to return before wrestling’s premier event, but the company has taken a cautious approach with her recovery timeline.
Asuka remains part of the Damage CTRL faction on WWE RAW, though she has been absent from television since her injury. Her current status leaves questions about the group’s direction heading into the WrestleMania season.
Damage CTRL continues its presence on the red brand without Asuka. IYO SKY, another member of the faction, challenges Rhea Ripley for the Women’s World Championship on tonight’s episode of RAW.
WWE has not released an official statement regarding Asuka’s recovery timeline or specific return date.
