Roman Reigns May Interfere in Major WrestleMania 41 Match

Former Undisputed WWE Champion Roman Reigns might return at WrestleMania 41 to prevent John Cena from defeating Cody Rhodes after being sidelined since Royal Rumble 2025.

Roman Reigns May Interfere in Major WrestleMania 41 Match

John Cena secured his position in the WrestleMania 41 main event by winning the Elimination Chamber match. Following his victory, Cena executed a shocking heel turn by attacking Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes and aligning with The Rock.

The 16-time world champion’s actions marked his first heel turn in 23 years, positioning him as The Rock’s potential next corporate champion if he defeats Rhodes at WrestleMania.

Roman Reigns, absent from WWE programming since Royal Rumble 2025, could play a significant role in the championship match outcome. The former champion has a complicated history with both competitors in the WrestleMania main event.

Reigns and Cena have faced each other twice in the past, with both contests ending in victory for The Tribal Chief. Their first encounter occurred at No Mercy 2017, followed by another match at SummerSlam four years ago.

The dynamics between these competitors have shifted dramatically. During their previous encounters, Cena portrayed a babyface while Reigns was positioned as a heel. Now, those roles have reversed, with Cena embracing villainous tactics while Reigns has transitioned away from his heel persona.

Cena’s unexpected betrayal comes after he previously supported Rhodes at WrestleMania 40, where he helped him against The Bloodline. This stark contrast in allegiance further complicates the storyline heading into this year’s showcase event.

Reigns has been sidelined since the Royal Rumble due to a brutal attack from Seth Rollins. The Visionary delivered two Curb Stomps to Reigns, including one on the steel steps, effectively removing him from WrestleMania contention.

Despite being off television, Reigns and Rhodes formed an alliance at the Bad Blood Premium Live Event last year, suggesting they maintain a respectful relationship. This connection provides logical motivation for Reigns to potentially return and prevent Cena from capturing the championship.
