2K Adds Major Cody Rhodes AEW-Era Entrance to WWE 2K25
Players can unlock Cody Rhodes’ throne-smashing entrance from his AEW days in WWE 2K25, with commentary acknowledging his history of breaking thrones.

The Bloodline and Deadman Editions of WWE 2K25 are now available ahead of the Standard Edition’s March 14 release, revealing a surprising inclusion referencing Cody Rhodes’ past outside the company.
Players can unlock the “Throne Smasher” entrance for Rhodes in the MyRISE mode, which recreates his famous moment from AEW’s Double or Nothing 2019. The entrance shows Rhodes destroying a Triple H-inspired throne with a sledgehammer.
The game’s commentary directly acknowledges this history, noting that Rhodes is “no stranger to smashing thrones,” making a clear reference to his AEW appearance.
Rhodes performed the original throne-smashing act at AEW’s inaugural pay-per-view in 2019, using Triple H’s signature sledgehammer to destroy a throne modeled after the WWE executive’s imagery. At the time, this symbolic gesture generated divided opinions among wrestling fans.
The inclusion is particularly noteworthy given Rhodes’ journey from WWE to helping found AEW, and then returning to WWE in 2022 where he has become one of the company’s top stars.
WWE 2K25 is set for wide release on March 14, with early access available now through the Deadman and Bloodline Editions. The game features over 300 playable characters, with additional downloadable content already confirmed.
