WWE appears to be moving toward changing the Women’s World Championship match at WrestleMania 41 in Las Vegas. The company may transform the officially announced IYO SKY vs Bianca Belair title match into a triple threat contest that includes Rhea Ripley.
The potential change became apparent during the March 3 episode of Raw when IYO SKY defeated Rhea Ripley for the Women’s World Championship. The title change occurred after interference from Bianca Belair, who had previously earned a championship opportunity by winning the Elimination Chamber.
WWE later confirmed SKY vs Belair as the official WrestleMania match. However, the finish to the championship match seemed deliberately designed to set up a three-way contest at WrestleMania.
This suspicion gained further support during this week’s Raw at Madison Square Garden. IYO SKY participated in an in-ring interview with Michael Cole, receiving enthusiastic “you deserve it” chants from the New York crowd.
Bianca Belair later joined SKY in the ring, but their interaction was interrupted when Rhea Ripley stormed to the ringside area. Ripley and Belair immediately confronted each other face-to-face, effectively sidelining SKY in the process.
SKY took exception to being overlooked, responding by slapping both Belair and Ripley. This action drew another strong reaction from the Madison Square Garden audience.
While WWE has not yet made an official announcement regarding the match stipulation change, the segment strongly indicates the WrestleMania match will evolve into a triple threat involving all three competitors.
