Seth Rollins has revealed he was originally scheduled to compete at WWE’s Saturday Night’s Main Event broadcast in December.
During an appearance on WFAN, Rollins discussed his potential interest in commentary after retirement while sharing the scrapped match plans.
When asked if he would consider following Jesse “The Body” Ventura’s path into commentary, Rollins quickly dismissed the idea.
[Laughs] Commentary no, not so much. I think Jesse is awesome, man; I was so bummed I wasn’t on the Saturday Night’s Main Event.
Rollins then explained how his scheduled match was canceled due to his opponent’s injury.
I think I was on the books for a match for that show. Then my opponent this giant dude Bronson Reed, decided to jump off the top of a cage and snap his ankle. And so my match got scrapped.
The planned bout would have been a rubber match between Rollins and Reed to settle their rivalry.
Reed’s injury occurred when he performed a top-of-the-cage dive during the Survivor Series.
Reed is expected to miss WrestleMania 41 as he continues recovery from his ankle injury.
The timeframe for Reed’s return to in-ring competition remains undetermined at this point.
