Major Star Concludes WWE Run, Returns to Japan

Japanese wrestler Yoshiki Inamura has completed his WWE NXT tenure as part of the talent exchange between WWE and Pro Wrestling NOAH. The NOAH star formally announced his return to Japan during the May 6 NXT broadcast, concluding a six-month stint that began in November 2024.

In a backstage segment, Inamura expressed regret to tag partner Josh Briggs about their unsuccessful championship pursuits, stating he wished he could have been a better teammate. His NXT run included multiple tag title opportunities, including matches at November 2024 house shows and February’s Vengeance Day Premium Live Event.

The powerhouse competitor also appeared on WWE Speed, falling to Ivar in a February taping. His final WWE match occurred in the same May 6 episode’s NXT Championship #1 Contender’s Battle Royal, won by Myles Borne.

Inamura’s excursion marked the reciprocal portion of the NOAH-WWE partnership that previously sent Omos to Japan in January. WWE’s Shawn Michaels had personally announced Inamura’s arrival last November ahead of his debut. The departure leaves open possibilities for future talent exchanges between the promotions.
