A social media post from AEW’s Shelton Benjamin has ignited speculation about Carlito potentially joining the Hurt Syndicate. Benjamin took to Instagram recently, sharing an older photograph of himself and Carlito dressed in suits, accompanied by the caption: “Hey Briz, Nice suit. Hmmmmmm.” This cryptic message surfaced shortly after Carlito confirmed that WWE would not be renewing his contract.
Carlito, who had been a member of The Judgment Day, announced his impending departure from WWE around June 1st or 2nd, 2025, stating his contract is due to expire in two weeks. He had returned to WWE full-time in 2023. The Hurt Syndicate in AEW recently expanded its ranks with the induction of MJF a few weeks ago.
The news of Carlito’s WWE exit came as fans were already processing WWE’s decision not to renew R-Truth’s contract. Beyond these two, Sarah Logan (Valhalla) also announced on June 2, 2025, that WWE informed her they would not be renewing her contract when it expires.
These contract non-renewals mean all three performers will become free agents once their current WWE agreements conclude.
