WWE Night of Champions Reportedly Still on Amid Iran Tensions

Despite circulating rumors about a potential cancellation, WWE’s plans for Night of Champions in Saudi Arabia are reportedly still moving forward. A report from Fightful Select clarified that the company intends to proceed with the event as scheduled.

Concerns over the event’s status arose from recent military conflict between the United States and Iran, leading to questions about the safety of talent traveling to the region. The speculation suggested that WWE might reconsider holding the show in an area perceived to be unsafe.

However, the logistical commitment extends beyond a single premium live event. WWE also has an episode of SmackDown scheduled for Friday, with talent set to fly out mid-week. According to the report, the inclusion of the weekly television taping makes altering the plans a more significant challenge.

The decision is also influenced by WWE’s long-term business relationship with the country. With the Royal Rumble reportedly planned for Saudi Arabia next year, there is much at stake for the company.

The report also noted that Saudi Arabia was described as “one of the safest places in the world.”
