Bianca Belair is expected to make her return to WWE programming around SummerSlam, which is scheduled for early August. The former champion has been out of action since WrestleMania 41, where she sustained broken fingers on her left hand during a Triple Threat match for the Women’s World Title against IYO SKY and Rhea Ripley.
Belair’s injury paused a significant storyline that saw her discover that former partner Naomi was the person who had attacked Jade Cargill backstage. The reveal led to a heel turn for Naomi and Belair cutting ties with her. In Belair’s absence, Naomi’s prominence has grown, punctuated by her victory in the Money in the Bank ladder match. Following the win, Naomi directed taunts at Belair on social media.
Upon Belair’s return, there is internal speculation that she could be moved from SmackDown to WWE RAW. Such a brand switch would provide a fresh start away from Naomi’s constant interference and could set the stage for a WrestleMania rematch against IYO SKY. A move would also bolster the RAW women’s roster, which has been impacted by injuries. This scenario remains speculative, as her return could also reignite the feud involving Naomi and Jade Cargill on SmackDown.
Although sidelined from competition, Belair made a brief appearance on the May 30 episode of SmackDown in her hometown of Knoxville, Tennessee, where she had an argument with Naomi. On a personal note, Belair celebrated her seventh wedding anniversary with her husband, Montez Ford, on June 23, sharing an emotional post on social media.
