WWE Legend Teases Brock Lesnar Return For Major Match

WWE Hall of Famer Goldberg has ignited speculation about a potential encounter with Brock Lesnar just days before the Night of Champions premium live event. Through a post on his X social media account, Goldberg shared a video of his dominant victory over Lesnar from the 2016 Survivor Series, offering no written context for the clip.

The timing of the post is notable, as Goldberg is currently preparing for a completely different high-stakes match. Following a surprise appearance on the June 16 edition of WWE RAW where he confronted the champion, Goldberg is now scheduled to challenge Gunther for the World Heavyweight Championship. That title match is set to take place at Saturday Night’s Main Event on July 12.

This scheduled bout with Gunther was widely understood to be the centerpiece of Goldberg’s retirement tour. The former champion had previously announced in 2024 that he would wrestle his final match in 2025, and the confrontation with Gunther was positioned as that concluding chapter.

However, the Lesnar tease adds a new layer of complexity to Goldberg’s future plans. Recent comments from his son have suggested that Goldberg is ready for another match even after he faces Gunther. This has led to questions about whether the match in July is truly his final one.

The build to the match with Gunther has been intense on its own. On this past Monday’s episode of WWE RAW, Goldberg issued a direct warning to the champion, stating his intention to win the World Heavyweight Championship. The match has also drawn comments from others, including former champion Jey Uso, who backed Gunther to retain his title.

While Goldberg’s immediate challenge is for the World Heavyweight Championship, his decision to post the Lesnar video has successfully created a new and unexpected narrative. It leaves the wrestling community to wonder if a final showdown with The Beast Incarnate could be part of Goldberg’s future plans, regardless of the outcome against Gunther next month.
