The injury occurred during the June 16, 2025, episode of WWE RAW, just moments into a match against Kairi Sane. Morgan landed awkwardly after a single-leg takedown from Sane, causing an immediate dislocation that forced the referee to stop the contest.
While an official statement was never released, the surgery confirms the severity of the injury. The timeline for her return remains uncertain and has been the subject of multiple reports. On the June 23 episode of WWE RAW, commentator Corey Graves stated Morgan would miss “several months.” Other sources have offered a wider recovery window, ranging from three to as long as six months, which could potentially sideline her for the rest of 2025. This marks Morgan’s second significant shoulder injury, following a similar issue that caused her to miss time in 2023.
Morgan’s absence necessitates a significant overhaul of WWE’s creative plans, as she was reportedly a central figure in multiple major summer programs. The planned feud with a returning Nikki Bella, intended to culminate at a rumored Evolution 2 event, is now canceled. A reported Women’s World Championship match against Iyo Sky at Night of Champions is also off the table.
Furthermore, a key storyline involving The Judgment Day, which was building toward a mixed tag team match at SummerSlam pitting Morgan and Dominik Mysterio against Finn Bálor and Roxanne Perez, is now in jeopardy.
