WWE Has Already Determined Tiffany Stratton’s Opponent for Evolution

A potential storyline involving Hall of Famer Trish Stratus and reigning WWE Women’s Champion Tiffany Stratton has been pitched internally, with discussions tying the program to a possible Evolution 2 premium live event. The development comes as Stratus is confirmed to be in Pittsburgh for this week’s WWE RAW and SmackDown tapings, signaling a return to programming could be imminent.

Stratus has not appeared on WWE television since her feud with Becky Lynch concluded at Payback in 2023. A return would place her directly back into a prominent position on the roster.

Any program would involve one of the company’s top modern stars. Stratton has been positioned as a centerpiece of the women’s division throughout 2025, currently holding the WWE Women’s Championship. Her reign was solidified on June 27 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, where she defeated Nia Jax in a brutal Last Woman Standing match. The victory followed a successful title defense against Charlotte Flair at WrestleMania 41 earlier in the year.

According to a report from Fightful Select, the nature of the proposed storyline remains uncertain.

“We’re told WWE creative had pitched a potential program with she and Tiffany Stratton, but the claim internally was that things weren’t finalized as of this weekend.”

With both Stratus and Stratton currently operating as fan-favorites, the pitch could lead to a tag team pairing or a multi-woman match just as easily as a one-on-one confrontation. The potential of pairing a returning legend with SmackDown’s current champion provides a significant creative direction for the build toward the rumored all-women’s event.
