With the return of WWE’s all-women’s premium live event, Evolution, set for July 13, Saraya has directly addressed the persistent speculation about her potential return to the company.
In an interview with the Orlando Sentinel conducted on June 17, the former Divas Champion confirmed that despite constant online rumors, she has not been in contact with WWE about a comeback.
“I haven’t had a conversation with them, I know, I always get tagged in everything, as soon as there’s a mystery going around, they’re like, ‘Hey, she’s coming back.’ But no. I love the WWE, but no.”
Saraya, who became a free agent after her AEW contract expired in March, explained that she is enjoying her time away from the ring. She is currently focused on outside projects, including the launch of her memoir and a new podcast, ‘Rulebreakers with Saraya’.
“It feels good to take a little break from wrestling and then see the outpouring of love from people saying they want me back, I just want to get my feet wet outside of wrestling for a little bit and take care of myself this year.”
She elaborated that her entire life has been dedicated to the wrestling business and that she intends to use 2025 for self-discovery. While she leaves the door open for an in-ring return, it will not be happening in the immediate future.
“It’s consumed me my whole life. All 32 years of my life has been wrestling, so I just want to find myself a little bit outside it and next year, maybe come back.”
Saraya’s last match took place on the October 8, 2024, episode of AEW Dynamite, following a run that included winning the AEW Women’s World Championship at All In London in August 2023.
