Riding a wave of success in what he calls the company’s “best year ever,” AEW President Tony Khan confirmed that the potential exists to add a third weekly television program to its schedule. The company currently produces two primary shows, Dynamite on TBS and Collision on TNT, which also simulcast on the Max streaming service.
In a recent interview with WFAA, Khan directly addressed the possibility of expanding the programming calendar, a move fueled by the company’s current momentum.
“There’s always potential to expand the AEW programming calendar. Right now, things have worked really well with Dynamite and Collision. As we’re having a great year, it’s always something to consider.”
This consideration comes as AEW enjoys what Khan has described as its strongest period, citing a significant positive shift in fan and industry perception throughout 2025. He credits the expanded partnership with Warner Bros. Discovery and the increased accessibility through Max as key drivers for growth in ratings and ticket sales, creating a “fresh” and stable environment for the promotion.
The discussion of a third program is not entirely new for the company. AEW Rampage previously served as a third broadcast show until its run concluded in December 2024, with Khan noting at the time it was the last “for the foreseeable future.” Speculation was also fueled in late 2024 by a trademark filing for the name “AEW Shockwave,” though no concrete plans for a show under that banner have been announced.
The idea of adding another show appears to be part of a broader growth strategy for AEW. Khan has also recently floated the possibility of rebranding Ring of Honor, potentially as “AEW: Ring of Honor,” and continues to pursue international expansion with events like the upcoming “Grand Slam Mexico,” demonstrating a clear focus on growing the company’s footprint.
