WWE announced on Monday that it will take its weekly NXT program on the road for a special live broadcast from The Met Philadelphia on Tuesday, August 19. The event underscores the brand’s continued expansion under its new television agreement with The CW.
This marks a significant move for the developmental brand, bringing its show to a city with a rich wrestling history. The announcement comes as part of NXT’s growth strategy following the five-year deal with The CW Network, which began in November 2023 and brought the program to broadcast television for the first time.
The scheduling places the event in a competitive local market. The special NXT broadcast will follow the August 18 edition of WWE RAW, which is set to take place at Philadelphia’s Wells Fargo Arena. Furthermore, The Met is located just five miles from the 2300 Arena, where rival promotion AEW will begin a six-show residency the following week.
While the NXT brand holds a special event in the United States, WWE’s main roster talent will be overseas. The “Road to Clash in Paris” tour begins with SmackDown in Dublin, Ireland, on August 22 and continues through Europe until the end of the month.
Tickets for the Philadelphia show go on sale to the general public on Wednesday, July 9, at 10 a.m. ET. A special pre-sale will be available on Tuesday, July 8, starting at 10 a.m. ET.
