Major Change Made To WWE Evolution Card

The NXT team of Zaria & Sol Ruca has been confirmed for the Women's Tag Team Championship match at WWE Evolution this Sunday.

Major Change Made To WWE Evolution Card

The lineup for this Sunday’s Fatal 4-Way Women’s Tag Team Championship match at WWE Evolution is now complete. Champions Raquel Rodriguez and Roxanne Perez will defend their titles against one team from each of WWE’s three brands: Raw, SmackDown, and NXT.

The championship picture was altered last month after Liv Morgan suffered a dislocated shoulder, forcing her to relinquish her half of the titles. On the June 30 episode of WWE RAW, Perez, who had been aligning with The Judgment Day, was named as Morgan’s replacement by General Manager Adam Pearce. A key condition of this arrangement was that the new champions must defend the belts against challengers from all brands at Evolution.

On the July 4 edition of SmackDown, Alexa Bliss and Charlotte Flair secured their place by winning a triple threat match. The NXT representatives were subsequently announced as the established team of Zaria and Sol Ruca.

The final challenging team was confirmed on this past Monday’s episode of WWE RAW. Following a singles match between Perez and Kairi Sane, an attack by the champions on Sane prompted her partner, Asuka, to make the save. This confrontation solidified The Kabuki Warriors as the representatives for the Raw brand.

The match at Evolution presents a significant challenge for the newly formed championship team, while also highlighting the cross-brand status of other competitors. Sol Ruca, for instance, holds two other titles. She is the current NXT Women’s North American Champion and is scheduled to defend that title against Izzi Dame at NXT Great American Bash the day before Evolution. Ruca also holds the WWE Speed Women’s Championship.
