Several Surprise Returns Expected at WWE Evolution

With the second all-women’s Evolution premium live event just days away, a new report suggests WWE is focused on delivering a night full of surprises. The company has reportedly contacted numerous female talents whose involvement has not yet been announced.

During an episode of Wrestling Observer Live, Bryan Alvarez reported on the company’s plans for the show, which will take place on Sunday, July 13, in Atlanta, Georgia.

“I do know there are a lot of women who have been contacted and it hasn’t come yet, and there will be surprises at the Evolution show.”

This report aligns with previous information that the event will feature a larger card than usual, with seven to eight matches. Legends like Alundra Blayze and Jazz are already expected to make appearances, further building anticipation for other potential returns and debuts. The event’s profile has also been boosted by a partnership with Maybelline New York, which was named the official cosmetics partner.

The current card features several high-stakes championship encounters. In a WrestleMania 41 rematch, IYO SKY will defend her Women’s World Championship against Rhea Ripley. Elsewhere, WWE Women’s Champion Tiffany Stratton is set to face Hall of Famer Trish Stratus, who issued a surprise challenge.

The championship lineup continues with NXT Women’s Champion Jacy Jayne defending against TNA’s Jordynne Grace. Becky Lynch will put her Women’s Intercontinental Championship on the line in a Triple Threat match against Bayley and Lyra Valkyria.

In a non-title but personal contest, Jade Cargill and Naomi will clash in a No Holds Barred match. The Women’s Tag Team Championships will also be defended in a Fatal Four-Way match, featuring champions Raquel Rodriguez & Roxanne Perez against teams from across WWE’s brands.

A key feature of the night will be a Battle Royal, with the winner earning a world title opportunity at Clash in Paris on August 31. The field includes confirmed participants such as Nikki Bella, Natalya, Stephanie Vaquer, and Giulia. Nikki Bella’s entry into the match came after Liv Morgan was forced to withdraw from all Evolution plans due to a legitimate shoulder injury she sustained in June.
