The upcoming United States Championship match between Solo Sikoa and his brother Jimmy Uso at Saturday Night’s Main Event carries a significant question: will it be a fair fight? The possibility looms that WWE Chief Content Officer Triple H could make a crucial announcement to neutralize the champion’s formidable faction before the bell rings.
The match was made official by SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis, setting the stage for Sikoa’s first title defense in Atlanta. This comes after Sikoa won the championship from Jacob Fatu at Night of Champions, thanks to interference from his allies JC Mateo, Tonga Loa, and the debuting Talla Tonga. The group, now officially rebranded as MFT (My Family Tree), has established its dominance, most recently with a post-match assault on both Uso and Fatu on last week’s episode of SmackDown. On July 4, Sikoa declared, “This group is nothing like the Bloodline. This group is way more dangerous.”
With the numbers advantage clearly in Sikoa’s corner, the speculation centers on Triple H potentially banning MFT from ringside. Such a move would level the playing field and give Jimmy Uso an unobstructed opportunity to challenge his brother for the title.
Adding another layer to the family conflict, the father of both competitors, WWE Hall of Famer Rikishi, has voiced his opinion on the matter. Speaking on his podcast, Rikishi stated he believes MFT should shift its focus and begin feuding with talent outside of the Anoa’i family. He argued that facing a wider range of opponents would bring a fresh dynamic to their storyline. This sentiment underscores the intensity of the current “Bloodline Civil War” as Sikoa is forced to defend his title against a member of his own family.
