WWE reportedly has surprising plans for Randy Orton at SummerSlam, involving an unexpected tag team partner and a familiar foe.

Unexpected Randy Orton Plans For WWE SummerSlam Disclosed

Following a period of high-stakes matches, Randy Orton is now at the center of reports detailing an unexpected direction for him at SummerSlam. According to information from PWInsider, current plans could see Orton team up with Grammy-winning artist Jelly Roll for a tag team match.

This potential celebrity pairing comes after Orton’s recent pursuits of championship gold and accolades. He unsuccessfully challenged John Cena for the Undisputed WWE Championship and later fell to Cody Rhodes in the finals of the King of the Ring tournament. The shift toward a special attraction tag match marks a significant turn from his recent main event storylines.

The reported opponent for the duo is a familiar one for WWE audiences: Logan Paul. The United States Champion was last in action at Money in the Bank, where he found himself on the opposite side of the ring from Cody Rhodes, teaming with John Cena in a losing effort against Rhodes and Jey Uso.

Jelly Roll’s involvement is not without precedent, as the singer has developed a strong relationship with WWE and has participated in physical segments in the past. While the plans are not finalized, the combination of Orton, Paul, and Jelly Roll points toward a major showcase match for the summer event.

Before any SummerSlam plans materialize, Orton has a more immediate challenge. He is scheduled to face his rival Drew McIntyre at this Saturday’s Saturday Night’s Main Event. The match was made after McIntyre interrupted Orton and Cody Rhodes on the July 4 episode of SmackDown, prompting Orton to deliver an RKO to the Scottish superstar.
