In an unexpected programming decision, the women’s tag team match featuring Jordynne Grace and Blake Monroe against Fatal Influence will main event tonight’s NXT Great American Bash. The announcement confirms the bout will close the show, taking precedence over three scheduled championship matches, including the defense of the NXT Championship.
WWE officially confirmed the main event placement via social media ahead of the premium live event in Atlanta.
“The Women’s Tag Team Match between Fatal Influence and @JordynneGrace & @BlakeMonroeWWE will be the MAIN EVENT of #WWEGAB,” WWE announced on X.
The contest carries significant weight for all four women. It serves as a direct prelude to the NXT Women’s Championship match scheduled for tomorrow at Evolution 2, where champion Jacy Jayne will defend against Jordynne Grace. The match also marks the first WWE premium live event appearance for Blake Monroe, who will team with Grace against Jayne and her partner, Fallon Henley.
The conflict reached its boiling point on the June 17 episode of NXT, when Fatal Influence attacked Monroe during her official contract signing, putting her through a table. After Grace secured her number one contendership for the title, she also became a target of the faction, leading to a brawl where Monroe evened the odds. The escalating hostilities prompted NXT General Manager Ava to book the tag team encounter.
The decision to feature the tag team match in the final slot is notable given the rest of the card. The show also features Oba Femi defending the NXT Championship against Yoshiki Inamura and Ethan Page defending the North American Championship against Ricky Saints in a Falls Count Anywhere match.
