In a clash that added another chapter to one of modern wrestling’s most storied rivalries, Kazuchika Okada defeated Kenny Omega at AEW All In: Texas. The victory makes Okada the inaugural AEW Unified Champion, a title merging the International and Continental Championships. The bout, which lasted over 31 minutes, concluded after interference from Don Callis provided a crucial distraction, allowing Okada to secure the win with his signature Rainmaker.

This victory levels the historic series between the two competitors at two wins, two losses, and one draw. The rivalry, which began in NJPW, has now reached a new peak in AEW, culminating in this high-stakes title unification match.

The path to this championship moment in AEW marks a significant transformation for Okada. After leaving NJPW in February 2024, he debuted with AEW in March, quickly turning heel and aligning himself with The Elite. His journey included winning the Continental Championship from Eddie Kingston that same month and winning the 2024 Continental Classic tournament.

Okada’s strategic alliance with Don Callis proved to be the deciding factor. The partnership, which included a brutal contract signing attack on Omega in the weeks leading up to the event, paid dividends when Callis intervened at the most critical moment of the match. While the International and Continental titles are now unified under one name, their individual lineages will be maintained and can be defended separately in the future.

With the victory, Kazuchika Okada stands at the pinnacle of AEW. His next challenger for the newly established AEW Unified Championship has not yet been announced.
