Saraya Apologizes to Fans for Not Returning at WWE Evolution

Saraya has publicly responded to fans following her absence from the WWE Evolution 2 premium live event on July 13. The former champion addressed the widespread speculation that she would make her return to the company during the all-women’s show.

The situation unfolded on social media after the event. A fan, who had previously tweeted that they knew Saraya was on her way to the show, posted a follow-up message joking that the flight must have been to Hawaii instead.

Saraya replied directly to the fan, acknowledging the outpouring of support from those who had hoped to see her.

“I’m sorryyyyy! Although seeing all the love made me very emotional.”

This interaction comes after a period of intense anticipation from a segment of the audience. The speculation was fueled by Saraya’s own comments in the weeks leading up to the event. She had openly stated that she would have been receptive to a call from WWE to appear, especially after a neck injury forced her to miss the inaugural Evolution event in 2018.

Saraya became a free agent in March 2025 after an amicable departure from AEW, with no non-compete clause preventing her from appearing for another promotion. Her last official match took place on an episode of AEW Dynamite on October 8, 2024.

While she intends to wrestle “on and off” in the future, Saraya is also focusing on several non-wrestling projects in 2025, including the launch of her autobiography, “Hell in Boots,” and a new podcast.
