Cardi B’s WWE SummerSlam Appearance Receives Major Update

Despite Cardi B’s puzzling disappearance from all on-air promotion, a new report confirms she is still set to host the two-night SummerSlam event on August 2 and 3.

Fan speculation about the status of the partnership grew in recent weeks after WWE abruptly stopped mentioning the celebrity host during its broadcasts. The silence was a noticeable shift from the company’s initial announcement in April and a departure from their typical strategy of heavily promoting mainstream celebrity appearances ahead of a premium live event.

Clarity on the situation arrived via a Fightful Select report, which states that plans for Cardi B to host the event at MetLife Stadium have not changed. WWE sources indicated to the outlet that the company has continued to make plans for the event with her involvement firmly in mind.

During the post-show press conference for Money in the Bank, WWE’s Chief Content Officer Paul “Triple H” Levesque addressed her role, suggesting her appearance could be unpredictable.

“I don’t know if anyone can control Cardi B, let me start with that. If she wants to, I don’t think we can talk her out of it.”

He added that Cardi B was “excited about the project,” framing her involvement as part of WWE’s ongoing push to attract audiences beyond its traditional fanbase, a strategy that has previously included major stars like Bad Bunny and Logan Paul. Given her long-standing enthusiasm for pro wrestling, her role could extend beyond a simple hosting duty.
