Just outside the arena, a car accident involving the MFT occurs. Cody Rhodes arrives and asks Adam Pearce for the contract for a match that will be signed later today. Pearce remains at the scene of the accident while police take statements from the group led by Solo Sikoa, who was also involved in the collision.
In a backstage segment, Charlotte Flair informs Alexa Bliss that the two will face off for a title at SummerSlam, a match officiated by Adam Pearce. Charlotte asks Alexa to accompany her to her match that night, and Alexa accepts. In the background, Giulia and Kiana James are seen walking together.
Singles Match: Charlotte Flair w/ Alexa Bliss vs. WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion Raquel Rodriguez w/ WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion Roxanne Perez
– Flair lands a “Big Boot” on Rodriguez, followed by a pinfall.
The police search for Jacob Fatu and ask Adam Pearce about him. The RAW General Manager leads the officers to Fatu, who, despite his reluctance, is forced to accompany the agents.
In a promotional video for WWE SummerSlam, Tiffany Stratton and Jade Cargill tease each other before their WWE Women’s Championship match. Tiffany declares that Jade will be just another name on her list of defeated opponents. Cargill responds that she doesn’t join lists, but that, in fact, she’s the one who puts an end to them.
In a backstage encounter, Damian Priest asks Carmelo Hayes if he knows where Aleister Black is. Carmelo denies having seen Black and claims that even if he did, he wouldn’t tell. In response, Priest challenges Hayes to a fight that very night. Hayes accepts the match, says he’s been waiting for this chance, and taunts, promising to defeat Priest for the second week in a row. As Carmelo tries to leave, Damian stops him and threateningly warns him to maintain that same confidence during the match.
Singles Match: Damian Priest vs. Carmelo Hayes
– Priest wins via DQ after being attacked by Aleister Black.
Black then delivers a “Black Mass” to Priest before returning backstage to loud boos.
In a promotional video, The Wyatt Sicks detail their motivations. Dexter Lumis states that the pursuit of titles was the only thing holding The Street Profits together. Erick Rowan then explains that the new group is a family connected by pain, not blood. Joe Gacy declares his intention to defeat every tag team in the division until only their truth prevails. The video closes with Uncle Howdy saying, “You just have to follow us.”
Solo Sikoa and his group, MFT, are in the ring. Sikoa tells the microphone that Jacob Fatu is selfish and betrayed his family, reminding him that he brought him to WWE and helped him succeed. He accuses him of being a criminal.
Meanwhile, the police release Jacob Fatu, who is met by Jimmy Uso. Fatu, furious, goes straight to the arena to confront Sikoa and his group. The fight begins when Fatu and Jimmy attack MFT.
During the confrontation, Talla Tonga attacks Jimmy Uso outside the ring, but Solo Sikoa saves him with a “Suicide Dive.” Back in the ring, Fatu attacks Sikoa and prepares to use a chair, but JC Mateo stops him. Jimmy Uso returns to help Fatu deal with the other MFT members.
Adam Pearce appears and criticizes Sikoa for trying to frame an innocent person. Pearce announces that, because of this, Solo Sikoa will defend his title against Jacob Fatu at SummerSlam in a Steel Cage Match. Police then enter the ring and arrest Solo Sikoa.
During an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel’s show, Randy Orton and Drew McIntyre are present with singer Jelly Roll. The two fighters start a fight on stage. Logan Paul then appears to provoke the singer and even attacks him. In response, Jelly Roll reacts, lifts him up, and throws him against the host’s table, breaking it with the impact of Paul’s body.
Singles Match: Stephanie Vaquer vs. Alba Fyre w/ Secret Hervice (Chelsea Green & Piper Niven)
– Vaquer lands a “SBV” on Fyre, followed by a pinfall.
While Vaquer celebrates in the middle of the ring, Piper Niven attacks her from behind. Niven lands a strike and tries to climb the ropes, but the Chilean fighter recovers in time and pushes her off. When she tries to return, Niven is met with a kick. After the match, Secret Hervice retreats backstage.
Elsewhere, backstage, the Street Profits give an interview. Montez Ford claims that The Wyatt Sicks used trickery to take their belts, and Angelo Dawkins promises they’ll get them back soon. #DIY approaches to taunt them about their loss. Tommaso Ciampa and Johnny Gargano say they already knew the Profits wouldn’t be able to defend their titles and that, to do the job right, they need to act themselves. Candice LeRae, who is with them, tells the Profits to pay attention and learn something from them. B-Fab tries to respond to the provocation, but Montez calms her down and ends the discussion.
WWE Tag Team Championship – #1 Contender’s Fatal 4-Way Match: Fraxiom (Nathan Frazer & Axiom) vs. Motor City Machine Guns (Chris Sabin & Alex Shelley) vs. #DIY (Tommaso Ciampa & Johnny Gargano) vs. Andrade & Rey Fenix
– Andrade lands a “The Message” on Ciampa, followed by a pinfall.
Adam Pearce, the RAW General Manager, is in the ring for the contract signing for the Undisputed WWE Championship match at SummerSlam. He announces the entrance of Cody Rhodes, who is greeted with a huge cheer from the crowd. “The American Nightmare” enters the ring, greets Pearce, and signs his part of the contract. He then addresses the San Antonio fans, thanking them for their support and mentioning that his family is from Texas. Cody states he is ready for the biggest match of his life and asks Pearce to call out the champion. The General Manager then introduces “The Greatest of All Time.”
John Cena enters the ring and tells Cody Rhodes that he won’t be competing at SummerSlam. He explains that because he’s filming a movie and is feeling tired, he won’t be signing the match contract. After apologizing to the fans, Cena heads backstage.
Unhappy, Cody Rhodes attacks John Cena, and the fight erupts outside the ring. Cena throws Rhodes against the metal steps. Back in the ring, Cena tries to use his belt as a weapon, but Rhodes manages to dodge it and kicks him, causing the title to fall.
Rhodes quickly grabs the belt and uses it to strike Cena’s head. He then positions the champion on the announce table. From the top of one of the ropes, Rhodes leaps and breaks the table with Cena’s body, knocking him unconscious.
With Cena unconscious on the floor, Rhodes places a pen in his hand and forces him to sign the match contract. He then grabs a microphone and announces that the SummerSlam match will be a “Street Fight,” a no-disqualification match. The segment ends with Cody Rhodes raising the championship belt.
End of show.
