Bryan Danielson Makes Major Future Revelation Amid AEW Absence

After nearly a year away from full-time competition, Bryan Danielson has revealed his next career path, announcing that he is training to become a volunteer firefighter in his community. The decision marks a significant shift for the performer, who is currently recovering from serious neck injuries.

Danielson’s last televised match was a loss to Jon Moxley at WrestleDream 2024. His long-standing neck issues were reportedly worsened following a match against Will Ospreay at Dynasty last year, leading to a prolonged absence from the ring. He shared that the cumulative damage and pain made him realize that continuing as a full-time wrestler was no longer a sustainable option, shifting his focus toward his family and long-term well-being.

During a recent appearance at a Starrcast stage presentation, Danielson elaborated on his motivation for pursuing this new role, linking it to a desire to serve his community.

“So one of the things in our area that needs help is the forest fires, and so, one of my things to provide service to my community is training to be a volunteer firefighter… I’m looking at how I can be of service to my community and where I can feel like I’m really doing something with my life that’s productive and has meaning, you know? Those are the kind of things I’m looking for.”

Despite being sidelined, Danielson has remained a presence in AEW storylines. He recently appeared at All In to assist “Hangman” Adam Page against Jon Moxley and the Death Riders. However, Danielson emphasized that he is not currently medically cleared for a full-time return, and any physical involvement has been handled with extreme caution. This new focus on community service signals a definitive new chapter for the veteran wrestler.
