In a landmark moment for the ongoing partnership between WWE and TNA Wrestling, Jacy Jayne captured the TNA Knockouts World Championship at Slammiversary on July 20. By defeating Masha Slamovich, Jayne, the reigning NXT Women’s Champion, became the first woman to hold both titles simultaneously. The historic winner-take-all match took place at the UBS Arena in Elmont, New York.
The championship bout was defined by constant interference from Jayne’s faction, Fatal Influence. Fallon Henley and Jazmyn Nyx played a pivotal role, though Slamovich initially neutralized them with a dive to the outside. The chaos reached a peak when the referee was inadvertently knocked out, preventing him from counting a pinfall that Slamovich appeared to have secured.
Later in the contest, Henley’s attempt to pass the NXT Women’s Title to Jayne was thwarted by the referee. Jayne then used the TNA Knockouts Title as a weapon, striking Slamovich for a dramatic near-fall. The match’s conclusion came after Jayne blocked Slamovich’s finisher, the Requiem. Following a quick exchange of roll-up attempts, Jayne hit her Rolling Encore to secure the victory and become a double champion.
This title-for-title match was the culmination of a feud that began with Jayne’s surprise TNA debut on the March 20 episode of Impact!, where she attacked Slamovich. After weeks of ambushes from Fatal Influence, TNA Director of Authority Santino Marella and TNA-NXT Liaison Arianna Grace made the “Winner Takes All” contest official on July 3.
As Jayne celebrated in the ring with both championships, TNA President Carlos Silva was shown observing the new titleholder. The event also marked a significant milestone for TNA, as the broadcast team announced that Slammiversary 2025 drew the largest North American crowd in the company’s history.
