The tag team of A-Town Down Under is officially over.
During the July 21 episode of WWE RAW from Houston’s Toyota Center, Grayson Waller confirmed the partnership with Austin Theory has been terminated.
The announcement came during a backstage segment where Waller approached The New Day’s Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods. Waller stated that Theory is currently injured and sidelined from competition, and as a result, he is moving on and actively searching for new partners. In a pointed comment that signaled a bitter end to the team, Waller also referenced no longer having to carry “dead weight.”
This development marks a definitive conclusion for the duo, who reached the pinnacle of the tag team division by winning the WWE Tag Team Championships at WrestleMania XL earlier this year. Their championship reign ended in early July with a loss to #DIY, and rumors of internal friction had grown since.
While details about the nature of Theory’s injury or a timetable for his return have not been made public, Waller’s on-air declaration positions him for a singles run heading into the SummerSlam season. The team’s final televised match together was a loss to The War Raiders on the June 23 edition of WWE Main Event.
