The Undertaker’s recent backstage visit at a Lucha Libre AAA event on July 25 was more than just a casual appearance, as he is now expected to have a more frequent presence within the promotion. This development points to a deepening relationship between WWE and the Mexican wrestling company.
His appearance occurred at AAA’s Alianzas event in Mexico City’s Gimnasio Olímpico Juan de la Barrera. While there, the WWE Hall of Famer met with talent, including the reigning Reina de Reinas Champion, Lady Flammer. The visit itself garnered significant attention, especially as it happened on a night that already featured a surprise appearance by Dominik Mysterio.
This potential for increased involvement aligns with The Undertaker’s previously stated interest in taking on creative responsibilities. According to wrestling veteran Konnan, a key figure in AAA management, The Undertaker has been active in high-level creative meetings for joint WWE and AAA events, including Money in the Bank and Worlds Collide earlier in the year. His interest in a creative role has been a consistent topic as the two promotions strengthen their official collaboration.
Any potential role, however, must be weighed against his recent health issues. The Undertaker underwent heart surgery in June 2025 after dealing with complications following WrestleMania 41. He has made it clear that while he is open to a creative position, it must accommodate his health and family commitments, suggesting a role that could involve remote work or periodic on-site visits.
With AAA’s formal relationship with AEW now concluded, The Undertaker’s growing presence could signal a new era of crossover between WWE and AAA. His experience is seen as a valuable asset for mentoring talent and shaping major storylines for upcoming joint ventures.
