Karrion Kross will not be competing at Bloodsport XIV this weekend after WWE rejected a request for his appearance. The decision came just ahead of his scheduled match against Sami Zayn at SummerSlam.
Speaking on The Ringer, Kross explained the reasoning behind the company’s decision, believing it was a protective measure to avoid any potential injuries before the major premium live event. He noted the high demand of working two significant events on consecutive days was likely the primary concern for WWE officials.
“You know, it was funny. I was requested actually for this Bloodsport, but I think the concern of like maybe potentially getting injured before doing SummerSlam, working twice, they shot it down. I was a little bummed about that. I would have loved to have worked twice in one day just for the novelty of being able to say I did two amazing events back-to-back.”
While Kross expressed some disappointment, WWE’s caution is notable given his recent history. He competed at Bloodsport XIII on April 17, where he defeated JR Kratos. That appearance itself came just days after he suffered a ruptured eardrum during a match on WWE RAW, demonstrating his willingness to work through physical setbacks.
With the Bloodsport appearance off the table, Kross’s focus now shifts entirely to his high-profile encounter with Sami Zayn at SummerSlam.
