The Undertaker has put an end to speculation about a potential in-ring comeback. Speaking on the August 2025 episode of his Six Feet Under podcast, the WWE Hall of Famer stated he would not accept any “ridiculous offer” to wrestle again, explaining that his physical condition would not allow him to perform at a level that would protect his carefully built legacy.
The statement directly counters recent speculation from Disco Inferno on the Keepin’ It 100 OFFICIAL podcast. Inferno suggested that a multi-million dollar offer from Saudi Arabian financiers for the 2026 Royal Rumble in Riyadh could be enough to lure The Phenom back for one more match, questioning if the number could be “so ridiculous, like $5 million?”
When asked by Bubba Ray Dudley about such a lucrative scenario, The Undertaker was definitive. “No. I don’t think…look, the only way that I could put the hat and the coat back on is I’d have to get back in the ring,” he said. “And I can’t do that because that also jeopardizes the legacy. As much as I have here [points to head] and as much as I have here [points to heart], I know that there’s not enough left in the tank to do that.”
Although a return to active competition is off the table, Mark Calaway has remained closely involved with WWE in other capacities in 2025. In mid-June, reports surfaced about his strong interest in joining the company’s creative team full-time, a possibility he later confirmed he would “definitely entertain” if he could be “100% committed.”
His presence was also felt on-screen as recently as July, when he returned to NXT for a storyline with TNA Champion Trick Williams. The appearance was set up after Williams disrespected members of The Undertaker’s “LFG” team, leading to a scheduled in-ring confrontation between the two.
The WWE Hall of Famer officially retired at Survivor Series in 2020 after his final Boneyard match against AJ Styles at WrestleMania 36. His next scheduled appearance is his “UNDERTAKER 1 deadMAN SHOW,” set to take place in Las Vegas during WrestleMania 41 week on April 19, 2025.
