AJ Lee has entered the conversation after Roxanne Perez hit CM Punk with her signature “Pop Rox” finisher during a recent WWE live event. On Twitter, Perez tagged Lee in a clip of the attack with the caption, “Hi mom,” a direct reference to Lee’s inspirational role in her career.
The shoutout caught the attention of the former Divas Champion, who responded favorably to her “daughter’s” success in the ring. Lee has been referenced multiple times since CM Punk’s return in 2023, with many fans hoping for an in-ring comeback.
The incident took place on August 26 in Manchester, England, during a six-man tag team main event. Perez, representing The Judgment Day, interfered and attacked Punk. Despite her actions, The Judgment Day ultimately lost the match to Punk, Sami Zayn, and Penta.
This attack comes just days before CM Punk is scheduled to compete for the World Heavyweight Championship in a Fatal 4-Way match at “Clash in Paris” against champion Seth Rollins, LA Knight, and Jey Uso.
Perez’s alliance with The Judgment Day is a recent development, solidifying her heel turn. She joined the faction on the June 30 episode of Raw and held the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship for 33 days with Raquel Rodriguez before losing the titles at SummerSlam.
