In a recent interview with Sports Illustrated, Nikki Bella confirmed she is actively campaigning for her twin sister, Brie Bella, to make a WWE comeback. More significantly, she suggested the company’s position on the matter may be shifting, despite Brie’s husband, Bryan Danielson, being contracted to AEW.
“I do think [WWE is] becoming more and more open to it,” Nikki told Rick Ucchino. “I understand it takes time and we just have to figure things out. There’s so much business to figure out, and Brie and I both completely understand that.”
The primary obstacle for a reunion has been Danielson’s role in a competing promotion, a situation Brie herself described as a “roadblock” in July. Nikki acknowledged this reality in her recent comments.
“I keep pushing it. All the women want her back and they keep asking me every week has that decision changed,” she said. “I don’t think legacies should be determined on spouses, but I also understand business.”
Despite the complexities, Nikki has a clear goal for a potential final run with her sister: capturing the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships. She has previously stated her own comeback feels “incomplete” without Brie, emphasizing that a key part of their legacy is missing without a reign as tag team champions.
This push follows a summer of speculation. While Brie noted in July that she was “almost ready” to compete again, she also attended SummerSlam on August 1, watching the event from a suite with her sister.
