Claudio Castagnoli added another chapter to Darby Allin’s highlight reel of dangerous moments during this week’s episode of AEW Dynamite. In a violent display, Castagnoli hurled Allin completely out of the ring, sending him crashing through the announce table below.
The brutal spot is the latest in a long line of high-risk situations that have defined Allin’s career in AEW, where he is known for his willingness to endure extreme punishment.
This history includes the Swanton Bomb he performed from a ladder through a pane of glass at Revolution 2024 and the time Brian Cage powerbombed him out of the ring while he was inside a body bag filled with thumbtacks at All Out 2020. His feuds have often featured similar moments, such as being tied to an SUV and dragged through a parking lot by Team Taz in 2021.
While Allin has built a reputation on these spots, he has also acknowledged when things have gone too far. He previously described a moment at Double or Nothing 2024, where he was kicked by The Young Bucks while suspended upside down, as an instance of him “flying too close to the sun.”
His penchant for danger has even been curtailed by AEW management in the past. Company president Tony Khan once revealed he rejected a pitch from Allin in April 2020 that would have seen him get hit by a car, a risk Khan was unwilling to take during the early pandemic with a severely limited roster.
