Following his physical confrontation with John Cena on WWE SmackDown, Logan Paul released a fiery response on his YouTube channel, taking aim at both his upcoming opponent and the host city of Dublin. Paul reacted angrily to the crowd’s reception and Cena’s remarks from the show.
“Fuck*ng people are so stupid, bro. Especially the Irish. I’ve decided I hate this city,” Paul stated. He specifically targeted Cena’s claim that he takes from the industry, arguing, “You know how many impressions I’ve given this company? Why do you think I’m hired?… For him to tell the whole arena and everyone watching that I take from this industry, the fuking audacity, bro.”
Paul’s video was a direct reaction to the show’s closing segment in Dublin, where Cena mocked his short career. The promo battle concluded after Cena called Paul a “parasite” and delivered an Attitude Adjustment to him in the center of the ring.
This escalating hostility serves as the final promotion for their scheduled match at Clash in Paris this Sunday, August 31. The event, held at the Paris La Défense Arena, will mark John Cena’s first time performing in front of a live audience in France.
The rivalry is a key part of Cena’s farewell tour, as he is set to retire at the end of the year. The match was made official on the August 8 edition of Friday Night SmackDown after Paul challenged Cena to a match in a French-speaking location.
The “parasite” accusation that fueled Paul’s online outburst originated during another in-ring confrontation on the August 22 episode of SmackDown. On that night, Cena contrasted his own 23-year career with Paul’s 23 matches, accusing him of only using WWE as a “branding opportunity.”
Clash in Paris will stream live on Peacock in the United States and on Netflix internationally. Other announced matches for the card include and Seth Rollins vs. Roman Reigns vs. Bronson Reed.
