WWE conducted another round of staff layoffs this week as the company continues its corporate restructuring under TKO Group Holdings. First reported by Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful, the cuts took place on Thursday, August 28, and affected several internal employees. As of now, no in-ring talent have been reported as part of these releases.
This week’s departures are the latest in a series of cuts that have occurred since WWE and UFC merged to form TKO Group Holdings in 2023. The ongoing restructuring has resulted in multiple rounds of staff reductions over the past year as the new parent company aims to streamline its operations.
Earlier in 2025, WWE saw several other waves of layoffs. In May, Senior Vice President of Creative Writing Operations, Christine Lubrano, was among 10-12 employees let go from departments including creative services and photography. Another round of cuts in March primarily impacted the company’s production departments.
Adding to the internal climate of uncertainty, TKO introduced a new severance policy for WWE employees in July 2025. The revised package reduced severance from one month of pay for every year of service to just two weeks. According to reports at the time, the change was met with “absolute disgust” by some staff, who speculated it was a move to prepare for future layoffs.
The latest round of cuts comes at a busy time for the company, just days before the Clash in Paris premium live event in France. The specific departments and individuals affected in this week’s layoffs have not yet been publicly disclosed.
