Undertaker’s Long-Term WWE Backstage Role Confirmed

The Undertaker will be taking on a significant, long-term backstage role with Lucha Libre AAA, a move that has now been officially confirmed by Stephanie McMahon. This confirmation solidifies the WWE Hall of Famer’s new position following WWE’s acquisition of the Mexican promotion.

On a recent episode of her What’s Your Story podcast, McMahon addressed the topic directly. When asked by guest Roman Reigns if The Undertaker and Shawn Michaels’ involvement was a one-time occurrence, McMahon was clear about their future. “No, I think they’re involved. For sure,” she stated, confirming their ongoing commitment to the brand.

This announcement follows recent sightings that fueled speculation among fans. Just days ago, The Undertaker was seen in a behind-the-scenes video alongside Triple H and Shawn Michaels at AAA’s TripleMania XXXIII, signaling a deeper connection than his occasional television appearances since his retirement at WrestleMania 36.

The move into an official role has been developing for some time. Back in June, wrestling veteran Konnan reported that “The Deadman” had been active in creative meetings for major events, including joint shows between WWE and AAA. The Undertaker himself confirmed his interest around the same time, stating he would “definitely entertain” joining the creative team under Triple H to help shape the product and guide the next generation of talent.

His presence in Mexico has also been notable. On July 25, The Undertaker appeared backstage at the AAA Alianzas event in Mexico City, a visit that was widely seen as a precursor to a more formal role.
