With fellow AEW star and recent rival MJF making waves in Hollywood, AEW World Champion “Hangman” Adam Page has clarified that he has no immediate plans to follow that path. In a recent interview with Bleacher Report, Page confirmed that while he wouldn’t completely shut down any opportunity, his sole ambition is dedicated to his career in professional wrestling.
Page explained that acting is not a venture he has given serious thought to, directly contrasting the moves made by some of his peers.
“It’s not really something I’ve seriously entertained,” Page stated. “Like with any opportunity, I’m not just going to shut the idea of it down, but it’s just not something I’ve seriously entertained or where my focus is.”
He further solidified his position, emphasizing where his professional priorities lie.
“My focus really always has been and still is on being a professional wrestler. That is my career. That is my one and only real ambition in terms of work.”
Page’s comments come just days after his latest successful AEW World Championship defense at Forbidden Door this past Sunday, August 24. In one of the main events from the O2 Arena in London, Page defeated the very rival who has ventured into acting, MJF, to retain his title.
The championship bout was defined by its high stakes, featuring a stipulation where the title could change hands on a disqualification or count-out. The match involved several violent spots, including Page delivering a Deadeye to MJF through the timekeeper’s table at ringside.
The contest nearly concluded in controversy after MJF secured a pinfall with his foot on the ropes, but the decision was reversed when Mark Briscoe alerted the referee. Following the restart, Page countered an attempt by MJF to use his Dynamite Diamond Ring and secured the victory with a Deadeye followed by the Buckshot Lariat. Despite the loss, MJF still holds a contract for a future championship match from his previous Casino Gauntlet win.
