The upcoming WWE Clash in Paris Premium Live Event is scheduled to open with the highly anticipated grudge match between Roman Reigns and Bronson Reed. According to a report from Cory Hays, the internal rundown for the event lists their singles bout as the first contest of the night.
The confrontation, which will take place tomorrow, August 31, is the culmination of a feud that has escalated over recent weeks. The rivalry ignited after Reed, a member of Seth Rollins’ “The Vision” faction, began mocking Reigns for his part-time schedule. Adopting the moniker “The Tribal Thief,” Reed has repeatedly stolen Reigns’ sneakers following various on-screen altercations. The match was made official by Raw General Manager Adam Pearce after weeks of conflict, which included a tag team match at SummerSlam where Reigns and Jey Uso defeated Reed and Bron Breakker.
This will be Reigns’ first one-on-one match since January 6, 2025, and marks his first non-championship singles contest on a premium live event in 786 days.
Following the event in Paris, Reigns is expected to take another hiatus from WWE television. Reports indicate he is scheduled for filming his role in the upcoming “Street Fighter” movie throughout September 2025, which will likely keep him off programming for most of the month. Despite his planned absence, Reigns is the current betting favorite to win the match.
Speculation suggests the storyline with Reed could continue upon Reigns’ return, with a potential rematch at Crown Jewel in Australia on October 11, 2025. This has led to scenarios where either Reed wins in Paris to set up the future match, or Reigns is victorious before being written off television through a post-match attack by The Vision.
The match and subsequent break align with Reigns’ current status as a part-time special attraction for WWE. In a recent interview, Reigns discussed his ambition to balance both his WWE career and Hollywood pursuits, stating:
I don’t want to stop being a WWE superstar in order to wear other hats. I’m always going to be a WWE superstar.
