Jon Moxley’s Next AEW Match Confirmed

Jon Moxley’s next match has been set, as he is scheduled for a rematch against Daniel Garcia sometime next week. The bout was made official during the latest episode of Collision after Garcia issued the challenge and members of the Death Riders, Wheeler Yuta and Marina Shafir, accepted on Moxley’s behalf. The specific AEW program that will host the match has not yet been announced.

The challenge stemmed from events earlier in the night. Just before Daniel Garcia’s own match, Moxley approached him and whispered something in his ear. After securing his victory, Garcia was questioned by Tony Schiavone about the exchange but refused to reveal what was said, instead challenging Moxley directly. This interaction followed their initial contest on the prior Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite, where Moxley defeated Garcia.

While Moxley’s focus is now on Garcia, this new matchup arrives amid an ongoing and volatile situation with Darby Allin. The conflict has been escalating in the build-up to All Out, which is scheduled for September 20.

During the August 27 episode of Dynamite, Allin issued a formal challenge to Moxley for a match at the pay-per-view. However, later that night, Wheeler Yuta publicly announced that Moxley was refusing the offer. Despite the rejection, Allin went on to defeat Death Riders member Claudio Castagnoli in a Falls Count Anywhere main event.

The animosity between the two ignited at Forbidden Door on August 24. After a ten-man steel cage match, Moxley and Castagnoli launched a vicious post-match assault on Will Ospreay, who was on Allin’s team. They locked the cage and targeted Ospreay’s neck with multiple Paradigm Shifts and a steel chair, leaving him needing medical attention. This attack has been the driving force behind Allin’s pursuit of Moxley.

Despite the on-air refusal of Allin’s challenge, there is speculation that the match will ultimately be added to the All Out card, potentially with a violent stipulation such as an Exploding Barbed Wire Deathmatch.
