Massive Backstage Brawl Erupts at AEW Collision

A simmering feud between Jamie Hayter and Thekla exploded into chaos during tonight’s broadcast of AEW Collision, resulting in a massive backstage brawl that required a team of security and referees to contain.

The confrontation, which was caught by cameras between scheduled segments, saw the two women trading blows until officials intervened. The situation escalated dramatically when Thekla climbed atop a platform and executed a diving crossbody, taking out not only Hayter but several security guards in the process.

This physical altercation is the latest chapter in a rivalry that was reignited last weekend at Forbidden Door. During the Zero Hour pre-show, Hayter made her surprise return after a nearly three-month absence to save Queen Aminata from a three-on-one assault by Thekla and her Triangle of Madness faction. After dispatching Julia Hart and Skye Blue, Hayter came face-to-face with Thekla before the group retreated.

The animosity between the two began on the May 28 episode of AEW Dynamite, when Thekla, known as “The Toxic Spider,” made her debut by attacking Hayter. This assault was the storyline explanation for Hayter’s long absence from television.

In reality, Hayter was sidelined by a legitimate, undisclosed injury she sustained in May during her loss to Mercedes Moné in the Owen Hart Cup Tournament finals. It was reported that AEW officials praised Hayter for performing the initial attack segment with Thekla despite not being medically cleared for physical contact at the time.

This recent injury was her second significant setback, following a previous one that cost her the AEW Women’s World Championship in 2023 and led to a nearly year-long recovery.
