Mercedes Moné Faces Major Challenge on AEW Collision

Alex Windsor has officially responded to Mercedes Moné. During tonight’s episode of AEW Collision, Windsor challenged the TBS Champion to a match, proposing the bout take place during AEW’s upcoming events in Philadelphia.

The challenge came after Windsor secured a victory and was interviewed by Tony Schiavone. She stated that she lost all respect for Moné after the champion brought up her partner, Will Ospreay. This was a direct reaction to comments Moné made on Dynamite earlier this week, where she referenced Ospreay’s recent injuries and threatened to send Windsor to the hospital to join him.

The animosity between the two has grown since Forbidden Door, where Moné retained her TBS Championship in a four-way match that also included Windsor. In a promo following that victory, Moné mentioned that Windsor was one of the competitors who pushed her to her limit.

Currently holding nine championships, Moné has been vocal about her goal of collecting more titles. In a recent social media post, she expressed a strong desire to win the ROH Women’s World Championship, currently held by Athena. This ambition is a core part of her “CEO” persona, as she aims to solidify her claim as the best women’s wrestler in the world.

Despite fan speculation about her influence backstage, recent reports have clarified that Moné does not have creative control in AEW to turn down opponents. Both Moné and AEW President Tony Khan have stated that while her input is valued, final decisions are made by Khan, and she collaborates with whomever she is assigned to work with.
