Wyatt Sicks Member Says ‘We’re Just Getting Started’ Before WWE Clash in Paris

Dexter Lumis, one-half of the current WWE Tag Team Champions, recently shared his perspective on the Wyatt Sicks’ run, stating the group is only beginning to realize its potential. In an interview with Emily Mae of Wrestling News, Lumis reflected on the faction’s progress since its debut.

“It’s been absolutely amazing thus far,” Lumis said. “I can’t even believe it’s been more than a year, and I feel like we’re really just getting started.”

He also pointed to his partnership with fellow Wyatt Sicks member Joe Gacy as a key strength. “I feel like I have great chemistry with every member of the group, especially Joe Gacy, and I think that the company saw that and were like, ‘that’s a tag-team right there that not many people are going to be able to mess with.’” h/t Wrestletalk.

Lumis’s sentiment that the group is “just getting started” was reinforced by the actions of their leader, Uncle Howdy, on this past Friday’s episode of SmackDown. During a segment, Howdy extended an invitation to Montez Ford, questioning the strength of his bond with his Street Profits partner, Angelo Dawkins, ahead of their scheduled championship match.

Howdy directly challenged Ford, asking, “But the blood running through your veins, does it run through his? Are you a real family? Because the Wyatt Sicks is.” The invitation left Ford looking confused and introduced a new psychological element to the feud.

The confrontation is set against the backdrop of an upcoming title defense at Clash in Paris, where Lumis and Gacy will face The Street Profits. The Street Profits secured their championship opportunity by defeating The Miz and Carmelo Hayes on the August 29 edition of SmackDown.

This move to potentially expand the group aligns with recent comments from Taylor Rotunda (Uncle Howdy). In an interview with “The Takedown on SI” published on August 27, Rotunda noted that while the current members were all connected to the late Bray Wyatt, he was not ruling out future additions to the faction.

Lumis and Gacy won the WWE Tag Team Championship at SummerSlam earlier this month. The Wyatt Sicks, who debuted on June 17, 2024, have also utilized the “Freebird Rule,” with Erick Rowan and Uncle Howdy defending the titles at a recent live event.
