Rhea Ripley has issued a public warning to fans about respecting personal boundaries after a troubling encounter where she was swarmed while attempting to get into an Uber.
In a post on Twitter, Ripley detailed the incident, explaining that she was pushed against the vehicle’s door by a crowd. She stressed the need for basic respect, stating that wrestlers are people and should not be treated aggressively.
“Remember, we are people. Do not swarm me or anyone like a pack of rabid zombies… No one should ever be pushed up against a uber drivers door and completely mobbed like I just experienced. Use common courtesy and humanity. No means no. Wtf.”
This event follows a more serious situation from earlier this year, when Ripley reported having to deal with a stalker who appeared at her home, making her recent plea for space all the more significant.
Ripley’s experience highlights a recurring issue involving fan interactions with top wrestling stars. Her warning was posted just one day after CM Punk made a similar request on social media. Following an alleged incident in Paris where a fan reportedly grabbed him, Punk posted a direct message on his Instagram Story on August 30th, writing, “Stop touching strangers. PLEASE”.
Punk is in Paris for Clash at Paris, which takes place tonight, where he is scheduled to challenge Seth Rollins for the World Heavyweight Championship. The match is a Fatal Four-Way that also includes LA Knight and Jey Uso. This will be Punk’s first championship opportunity since SummerSlam, where Rollins successfully cashed in his Money in the Bank contract to end Punk’s brief title reign.
