Seth Rollins Retains World Heavyweight Title With Help From Becky Lynch at WWE Clash in Paris

Seth Rollins has retained the World Heavyweight Championship at Clash in Paris, but only after receiving unexpected help from his wife, Becky Lynch. The stunning interference came in the final moments of a chaotic fatal four-way main event against CM Punk, Jey Uso, and LA Knight.

The match concluded when a masked individual slid into the ring as Punk was preparing to hit Rollins with a second Go to Sleep. The person delivered a low blow to Punk, before revealing themself to be Lynch. The distraction allowed Rollins to recover and hit a Stomp onto a steel chair, pinning Punk for the win.

The title defense was ordered by RAW General Manager Adam Pearce, who was displeased with how Rollins won the championship. At SummerSlam, Rollins cashed in his Money in the Bank contract on CM Punk, who had just defeated Gunther for the title moments earlier, a move that Rollins had planned despite feigning an injury.

During the match in Paris, all three challengers often worked together against Rollins. Jey Uso competed with taped ribs following an earlier attack by Bron Breakker. Before the main event, Rollins stated in an interview that he didn’t need anyone by his side, especially with Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed barred from ringside. The two were dismissed by Adam Pearce after they attacked Roman Reigns backstage, an assault which resulted in Reigns being stretchered out of the arena.

Earlier in the night, Becky Lynch had a successful title defense of her own, retaining the Women’s Intercontinental Championship against the returning Nikki Bella.
