MVP Accepts Ricochet Challenge for AEW All Out Trios Match

The Hurt Syndicate will officially face Ricochet and the Gates of Agony at AEW All Out. During the September 3 episode of Dynamite, MVP formally accepted a challenge issued earlier in the night, confirming a high-stakes trios match for the pay-per-view. In his promo, MVP labeled Ricochet a “kiss ass” and criticized his association with GOA. He concluded by directly addressing Ricochet and accepting the match, which will take place on Saturday, September 20, in Toronto.

MVP’s acceptance promo was the culmination of weeks of escalating hostilities between the two factions. The animosity ignited at Forbidden Door when Ricochet and Gates of Agony, then masked, attacked The Hurt Syndicate and cost Bobby Lashley and Shelton Benjamin the AEW World Tag Team Championships.

The conflict then grew increasingly personal. On an episode of Dynamite, MVP accused Ricochet of sabotaging his UK work visa, preventing him from appearing at Forbidden Door in London. MVP retaliated on the August 27 edition of Dynamite by striking Ricochet with a cane, an interference that directly cost Ricochet’s team a match for the AEW World Trios Championship. This act prompted Ricochet, Toa Liona, and Bishop Kaun to issue what they called a “demand” for a match at All Out earlier in the night on September 3.

Adding a complex layer to the feud, MVP revealed on his podcast in late August that Ricochet was originally planned to be a member of The Hurt Syndicate when the group reformed in AEW. An in-ring segment with Bobby Lashley was designed to facilitate Ricochet’s character change, but plans were altered due to contract negotiations.

In his promo tonight, MVP stated his intent to “lace my boots and join my brothers in combat and punch you right in your disrespectful mouth.”

He ended his message with a final warning for the pay-per-view.

“We are going to hurt you.”

The trios bout joins a card that also includes a scheduled match pitting Adam Copeland and Christian Cage against FTR. AEW All Out will be available on traditional pay-per-view carriers in the United States and Canada, on PPV.COM and YouTube for fans in North America and select international markets, and on Prime Video in the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom. The event will also stream internationally on TrillerTV, while fans in the United States can watch on HBO Max, Sling TV, DISH Network, and DIRECTV,
