New details have emerged from Vince McMahon’s recent 80th birthday celebration, with WWE Hall of Famer The Godfather revealing McMahon was dressed like the movie character Dr. Evil at the event. The party took place months after McMahon was forced to resign as TKO Executive Chairman in early 2024 following a lawsuit filed by a former WWE employee alleging s—xual abuse and sex trafficking.
Speaking on his Poddin’ Ain’t Easy show, The Godfather, Charles Wright, described the gathering as an exclusive affair. He noted that McMahon told him, “Charles, I just want you to know there’s nobody here that’s not my true friend.” The guest list included several prominent wrestling figures.
“I’m not going to mention everybody who was there but, of course, Taker was there and Kane was there and Bradshaw was there. We had a good time. Cena was there,” The Godfather stated. Reports indicate other attendees included Gerald Brisco and Bruce Prichard, though Triple H and Stephanie McMahon were not present.
The most striking detail was McMahon’s attire. The Godfather said McMahon had on “like, a Dr. Evil suit.” He kept the thought to himself initially but soon found he wasn’t alone in the observation.
“He gets to me and Taker are talking and Kane and (Vince) walks away and Taker goes, ‘Dude, Vince looking like Dr. Evil.’ I’m like, ‘Dude, that’s exactly what I was thinking!’” Wright recounted.
The Godfather also confirmed that phones and cameras were banned at the party. This effort to maintain privacy was highlighted when Jerry Lawler posted a photo from the event on social media featuring current WWE stars Sheamus and Drew McIntyre, only to delete it shortly after. Wright added that McMahon, who he said looked and was moving better than in recent pictures, also introduced him to a woman he referred to as his girlfriend.
The news of the party and the attendance of current company talent has stirred mixed reactions, given the serious allegations that precipitated McMahon’s departure from the business. While the event has fueled some outside speculation about a potential return, reports from top company sources have indicated there is no desire to bring McMahon back in any capacity.
