WWE analyst Sam Roberts believes the new on-screen alliance between Becky Lynch and her husband, World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins, could lead to significant internal conflict within The Vision, specifically with Paul Heyman. Speaking on the Notsam Wrestling podcast, Roberts argued that Heyman may no longer fit with the faction’s new power couple dynamic.
The speculation follows the events at Clash in Paris on August 31, where Lynch officially joined The Vision. During the main event, she interfered in the Fatal Four-Way match, delivering a low blow to CM Punk which allowed Rollins to secure the victory and retain his title. This happened after the rest of The Vision had been barred from ringside.
Compounding the situation is Heyman’s current absence. On the September 1 episode of Monday Night Raw, WWE confirmed that Heyman suffered a larynx contusion after his former client, Roman Reigns, attacked him with a Guillotine Choke. It remains unclear when The Oracle will return to television.
Roberts suggested a potential path forward for Heyman would be to align with Bronson Reed and Bron Breakker, leaving the husband-and-wife duo to proceed on their own.
“As soon as Paul Heyman is back, I could see him with Bronson Reed and Bron Breakker. But does he fit in with Seth Rollins and Becky Lynch? Now, I don’t know,” Roberts stated. “The Seth Rollins and Becky Lynch thing to me has legs on legs on legs on legs. To me, the Seth Rollins and Becky Lynch thing feels so much different than it did a few years back. It feels fresh. It feels cool… I think it’s taken them both to another level very, very quickly. In terms of the story, and I don’t think Paul Heyman needs to be a part of the Seth Rollins-Becky Lynch story.”
Lynch and Rollins solidified their partnership on Raw when Lynch confronted CM Punk, slapped him multiple times, and accused him of lying about her husband, escalating their feud.
The long-term plan for the pairing is not yet known, including whether it will extend beyond their current program against CM Punk and a rumored returning AJ Lee.
