Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful added that with over a year remaining on Baker’s contract, the timing for her reintroduction could be optimal. The report suggested that with five women’s championships spread across AEW and Ring of Honor, deploying a star of her caliber would be a logical creative move.
The confirmation of Baker’s status comes as internal industry discussions center on WWE’s expected return of AJ Lee, positioning the former AEW cornerstone as a significant asset should AEW seek a strategic counter.
Baker has not appeared on television since defeating Penelope Ford on the November 13, 2024, edition of Dynamite. Despite a return earlier in 2024, she has competed in only five matches since her last major program against Mercedes Moné.
