New WWE United States Champion Sami Zayn plans to kickstart his title reign tonight in Chicago. In a social media post ahead of SmackDown, Zayn stated his goal is to start his championship run “off on the right foot tonight.”
He also posted a simple, direct message: “Let’s get to work.”
Zayn captured the title from Solo Sikoa on last week’s broadcast in Lyon, France. The victory marked the first time Zayn has held the United States Championship, a significant milestone in his career. His win continues a heated rivalry with Sikoa, who previously prevented Zayn from becoming a contender for the World Heavyweight Championship.
Zayn’s address is part of a heavily promoted SmackDown.
The show will also feature CM Punk’s return to his hometown days after being slapped by Becky Lynch on Monday Night RAW. John Cena is also scheduled to appear, following his victory over Logan Paul at WWE Clash in Paris.
