WWE has confirmed that Brock Lesnar is scheduled to appear on the September 12 episode of SmackDown. The announcement was made after Lesnar interfered in event of the September 5, attacking both John Cena and United States Champion Sami Zayn with his signature F-5 maneuver.
Lesnar’s assault at Chicago’s Allstate Arena came during a championship match between Cena and Zayn, directly continuing the hostility that ignited with his return at SummerSlam 2025. He first pulled the referee from the ring to stop Cena’s pin attempt before neutralizing Zayn and then delivering two consecutive F-5s to Cena.
The attack spoiled what was a significant night for Cena, as it marked his final appearance on SmackDown, held in the same building as his WWE television debut 23 years prior.
In addition to Lesnar’s announced appearance, the September 12 broadcast will also feature two major matches. Drew McIntyre is set to go one-on-one with Randy Orton.
Furthermore, the WWE Women’s Championship will be on the line as the champion, Tiffany Stratton, defends her title against Jade Cargill.
